Ballina Salmon Anglers
Ballina Salmon Anglers Association invite you to fish one of Ireland's best Salmon Fisheries.
We offer 5km of fishing on the banks of the world-famous River Moy.
Day, Evening or Weekly Permits AvailableFor generations, the River Moy has been renowned globally as one of the most prolific salmon rivers in Europe. The Ballina Salmon Anglers Association is proud to manage pristine, world-class fishing waters right in the heart of Co. Mayo.
The highly anticipated Spring run begins early, steadily building to a peak in May. Catching these prized, hard-fighting 'Springers' straight off the tide is the ultimate angling reward. Early season tactics favor spinning and bait, though a well-presented sunk fly is highly effective in the right conditions.
As late May transitions into June, the famous River Moy grilse run begins. Given favorable water levels, June, July, and August offer some of the most prolific salmon fishing in Europe. Fly fishing truly excels on our waters in summer, while spinning remains incredibly productive during summer spates.
By August and September, our pools hold excellent numbers of resident fish, continually supplemented by fresh runs from the estuary. A good flood after a dry spell triggers explosive late-season action. This back-end fishing also brings the chance of connecting with much larger summer salmon.
